Try It Out : Bee’s Wrap | By Kim Fuller

Sustainable food storage is a hot topic, and the team at CO YOGA + Life® Magazine has tried a few great options for securing or saving food for later with eco and reusable containers, but Bee’s Wrap is the first plastic-wrap replacement we’ve tested.

Bee’s Wrap helps to eliminate plastics in the kitchen in favor of a healthier and more sustainable way to store food. These wraps are quick and easy, and the designs are so fun and creative. In just a couple days of testing I’ve stored a lemon, half an avocado and cheese in these wraps, and I can already tell I’ll be using them to cover countless ingredients and leftovers.

By infusing organic cotton with beeswax, organic jojoba oil and tree resin, Bee’s Wrap founder Sarah Kaeck created a washable, reusable and compostable alternative to plastic wrapping in 2012.

Bee’s Wrap can be used for wrapping a sandwich, cheese, produce and covering a bowl. Simply use the warmth of your hands to form Bee’s Wrap over the top of a bowl, half a piece of fruit, or a wedge of gouda. The wrap will hold its shape when it cools, creating a seal. It’s not good for Bee’s Wrap to be in the sun or in any heat, and these wraps are not recommended for use with raw meat.

The wraps last up to a year when they are properly cared for, so wash with cool water and gentle soap to reuse.
