There’s a perfect trifecta happening in the mountains this Labor Day weekend: Food Trucks Al Fresco, Friday evening, Vail Village. As an annual fall kick-off in Vail, Gourmet on Gore presented by Audi is adding more to the plate this year with a new event on Aug. 30. Food Trucks Al Fresco will bring together some of the state’s best-loved food trucks to East Meadow Drive in Vail Village.

Following a day of play in the mountains, this evening event will allow attendees to enjoy distinctive dishes from a variety of cuisines, courtesy of the trucks. This open-air dining experience will feature six to eight curated food trucks, creative cocktails, beer and hand-picked wines with an infusion of music featuring the all-female electronic quartet, Spinphony. 

“Gourmet on Gore is one of our favorite events of the year and we always want to keep it fresh,” says Peggy Wolfe, director of events for Highline. “This year, we wanted to bring a bit of urban flair to the weekend and food trucks are a fun and tasty way to do that. Add in the creative libations and the music of Spinphony and you’ve got a street party that can’t be beat.”

The line-up of food trucks includes Roll It Up Sushi, Colorado Q (barbecue), Harvest / The Sonnenalp Club, Lucky Marys Baking Co.,Michael Angelos Wood Fired Pizza, muDenver paired with selections from Breck Brewery, 10 Barrel Brewing Co., Ketel One Botanical, Don Julio, Infinity Monkey Theorem and more. 

From Michael Angelos Wood Fired Pizza, guests can savor the Truffle Tomato Bleu, a slice topped with truffle oil, roma tomatoes, blue cheese and prosciutto. Try the Gyoza Ramen from muDenver and grab a can of wine from Infinite Monkey Theorem to wash it all down. 

Evening entertainment from Spinphony will showcase the string quartet that is known for breaking down barriers between classical, rock and pop music. Mixing and mashing catchy melodies into unique arrangements and original compositions, the high energy quartet is more like a rock band with added choreography and beats from DJ Nevada.

This event is free to attend and  open to the public. Pair it with the Gourmet on Gore Open-Air Tasting on Saturday and Sunday, and Gourmet, Let’s Go!, presented by Audi — perfect for the active gourmet looking to combine adventure and culinary delights.
