Try It On: Cotopaxi Teca Full-Zip Windbreaker | By Bobby L’Heureux

This is the jacket I didn’t know I was missing. At 4.5 ounces, the Cotopaxi Teca Full-Zip Windbreaker is an ultralight weight jacket that’s perfect for many adventures. I have never owned an ultralight jacket in past as it didn’t seem to fit in the realm of “needs” for outerwear. Now I know this is not only a layer I often want but one that I truly need here in Colorado.

Winter had already arrived when I started testing the Teca Full Zip. I first used it as a light layer to skin up the mountain. It was perfect to keep the wind out and my base layer dry that day, especially since it was snowing.

The next time I broke out the Teca Full Zip I was running in Denver on a brisk morning. This would be the time I would normally wear a vest and overheat mid-way through my run. The back vent on the Teca let my heat escape, keeping my temperature just right during the hour-long outdoor session. I also used it as a to-and-from piece when I went to yoga and spin on temperate days that weekend.

The jacket I didn’t know I needed has become a staple in my wardrobe. It packs down to the size of my wallet, so I bring it on all my adventures. What I really love about the Teca Full-Zip, along with all of the great features like DWR finish and the elastic around the hood and wrist, is that it is made from repurposed remnant polyester fabric.

In addition to all this, the windbreaker also comes in some amazing colors. The color pallet is what I have come to expect from Cotopaxi with their limited runs. That’s right: once they are gone, they are gone for good. Get yours today before your favorite Tech color combination is gone.
